William Shatner Mask + White Paint = Gold |
The producers of the original Halloween (1978) had no money in the budget to create an original mask for Michael Myers to wear, so they opted to alter an existing mask.
When going over options, they settled on a Captain Kirk mask that they purchased for $1.98. They liked the Captain Kirk mask because it featured a blank, emotionless look. To make it more frightening, they widened the eye-holes, altered the hair, and painted the mask a haunting bluish white.
With that, the face of Halloween was born.
William Shatner, a man that instills terror became the face of the most iconic slasher movie killer in history. Some things just work out perfectly. This is one of those things.
